LINER NOTES

Why George Willard, why now? Why not George Willard now? Here he is, ready and remixed, but probably not digitally. Songs about unrequited crushes, pathos, headache remedies and things in general. This is a guy who can write about burps and scabs, human ones at that, for whatever reason. The songs seem to come from a place, a place that's deep inside all of our hearts, perhaps somewhere beneath the left ventricle or around the aorta, a place that's untouched, unharmed, unaware and, in George Willard's case, feeling unloved and uneverything. Historically these songs were recorded in the late 80's at the tail end of that jangling guitar hysteria, so unfortunately that may have been an overbearing influence. The tapes that have laid around forever, waiting for some chance organization and a new life, have been dusted off. Recorded in two different sessions, side one is acoustically based while the other side reveals George's electric tendencies. There's nothing more to explain, really, that didn't need explaining already. You have the tape, go listen to it and give ME peace. --Quayle Smithers, rock archivist
